Introducing Sean Chen! The first American since 1997 to reach the finals at the Van Cliburn Competition! We promised posts on the three winners from our six finalists post. If you missed it, be sure to check it out! Sean received Third place, the Crystal Award winner at the 14th Annual Van Cliburn in Fort Worth Texas! Chen is currently pursuing his Artist Diploma at the Yale School of Music as a George W. Miles Fellowship recipient. When not at the piano, Chen enjoys tinkering with computers and composing. In the coming seasons, he will be performing under the management of the American Pianists Association, touring the U.S. and presenting recitals worldwide.

I was honored to be the photographer for these winners. We went to Van Cliburn’s estate to take photographs for Sean’s career management. These photos and others will be used for marketing and promotional material for Sean, one of the honors of being the Crystal Award Winner. We had hair and makeup come help for the Second Place Winner, Beatrice Rana. We asked the hair stylist to stay for Sean Chen’s styling as well. He has some hair! While he was playing for the competition his hair was an iconic feature for Sean. His images turned out great! Congratulations Sean on your incredible accomplishments! At the age of 24 you have so many wonderful opportunities coming your way!!
